Responsibilities
The Controls Engineering Manager position is part of the Production Engineering Team. This is a full-time, exempt position. This position will require a broad range of responsibilities to ensure success. Some examples of these responsibilities are listed below (but are not limited to the following):
Lead a team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and technicians to identify and implement manufacturing process improvements.
Develops appropriate automation and process improvement strategy to maximize capacity and improve scalability.
Ability to identify process improvement, in particular processes for automation, and develop the appropriate implementation of the solution.
Strong ability to work with and manage relationships with 3 rd party organizations including contract negotiations for the design, production, and implementation of automation / production equipment
Stay in touch with the latest technologies in the manufacturing industry
Drive innovation and the development of scalable manufacturing solutions
Develop team members in the areas of technical and competency skill sets
Project management skills

Works cross-functionally, directs and manages the efforts of multiple departments (Supply Chain, Purchasing, Planning, Production, Quality, Manufacturing, Export and Shipping) for the successful expansion and improvement of production processes. new product launches as well as ad hoc projects including some current product modifications.
Responsible for all activities in the production automation process from inception to launch, meeting budget requirements and launch deadlines.
Responsible for identifying and tracking the comprehensive requirements for any given project and managing their timelines for on-time completion
Provides clear direction to cross functional team members regarding priorities and mitigates risks or possible delays to ensure on-time delivery.
Develops strong relationships at all levels of the organization and cross-functionally within the team.
Establishes and maintains best practices for process improvement, automation and production innovation.
Provides report-outs to leadership team and/or Director of Operations on the status of all projects.
Additional responsibilities as assigned to assist the PT team.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years in manufacturing automation, controls, or process improvement
5 years formal leadership of engineers or technical department
Excellent problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills and be results-orientated.
Must possess significant analytical skills which demonstrate consistent logic, rationality, and objectivity in decision making.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong computer skills.
Expert project management capabilities
Practical and applied knowledge of automation, manufacturing, process improvement and overall lean processes.
Demonstrated ability to lead in a rapid changing, intense and demanding environment.
Demonstrated interpersonal/teambuilding skills.
Some travel may be required
Compensation:
This position is full-time, exempt. Compensation typically follows industry median for Northeast Ohio/the Great Lakes region. You may be eligible for an annual bonus. This is a long-term, high accountability role.
