Proclinical is seeking a Director of Upstream Process Development located in Greater Boston, MA with a leading biotech company. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of scientists tasked with viral vector process development, process characterization, execution of upstream processes, and tech transfer activities to various manufacturing facilities.
Job Responsibility:
- Oversee process development and scale-up operations as well as defining scale down models.
- Drive innovation to enhance the quality and productivity of viral vector production.
- Provide technical and strategic contributions to cross functional development project teams.
- Author associated documents for regulatory submissions
- Act as the departmental figure head to the company's leadership team as well as to internal / external stakeholders
- Build and manage departmental timelines and budget.
Skills and Requirements:
- Advanced Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in executing projects whilst adhering to company timelines
- Experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry within a cell culture role with extensive knowledge of cell culture process development.
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Previous experience managing direct reports or project teams
- Excellent communication skills.
