We’re looking for a Release/DevOps Engineer to join Procore! As a Release/DevOps Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple stakeholders across the organization to analyze effective change management, drive compliance, and assist in releases of our Enterprise systems to ensure that updates to the backbone operations of our business are delivered smoothly. In this role, you will develop close partnerships with release engineers and cross-departmental system owners, promoting and executing appropriate change management, DevOps and release engineering, governance, and compliance across our Business Technology Enterprise systems.
This position will report to our Manager, Change Management & DevOps, and will be based in our headquarters in Carpinteria, CA, our downtown Austin, TX office, or remote. We’re looking for candidates to join us immediately.
What you’ll do:
Partner with system owners to provide hands-on support of system releases to deliver new initiatives, feature enhancements, and bug fixes
Manage the CI/CD pipeline and direct the sandbox refresh strategy
Ensure that change control processes and release readiness criteria have been met before release
Validate post-release activities, including rollback and root-cause analysis when an issue is encountered
Partner with business and system owners to document release readiness and compliance results and improve DevOps processes to address potential gaps
Support the team through hands-on development, troubleshooting, and process enhancements/
Serve as a change/release representative for Procore’s Enterprise compliance programs by helping colleagues navigate compliance requirements and embrace transformational change
Perform special projects as determined by IT senior leadership
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field
2 years experience in a DevOps, site reliability, release engineering, or software engineering role
Strong understanding of continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines, software configuration management/version control systems, build and release processes, and DevOps tools and technologies such as GIT
Experience handling complex release management challenges (multiple sandboxes or branches, parallel change requests, integration, and ecosystem dependencies)
Knowledge of ITIL or SDLC methodologies in the role of a release manager, software developer, DevOps engineer, or site reliability engineer
Familiar with Agile development – Scrum and SAFe methodologies
Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail, a high degree of motivation, and deadline-driven productivity
Experience in a DevOps, developer, administrator, or power-user role with one or more of the following platforms or tools is preferred: Workday, NetSuite, Salesforce, Snowflake, Jira, Confluence, Okta, AWS, Workato
