Job Description
We’re looking for Staff Security Engineer, Detection & Response to join Procore’s Cybersecurity team. In this role, you will oversee and improve our company's Detection & Response capabilities. Successful candidates will dive into designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced security detection and response technologies. As a Staff Security Engineer, Detection & Response, you will be collaborating with other teams to provide efficient and effective security detection and response capabilities.
This position reports into Sr. Manager, Security Operations and Threat Intelligence, and will be based remotely out of the US. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.
What you’ll do:
- Participate in an on-call rotation
- Teach and mentor junior team members
- Lead security investigations and incidents as Incident Commander
- Lead security incident post-mortems and retrospectives
- Implement detections using our state-of-the-art detections-as-code pipeline
- Maintain and improve the detection and alerting pipeline
- Build SOAR automations
- Peer review code contributions and project proposals
- Analyze metrics and trends to support decisions
- Work cross-functionally with stakeholders across the organization to architect and deploy solutions that add to our visibility
What we’re looking for:
- Experience leading and responding to security incidents
- Experience creating threat detections
- Experience securing cloud infrastructure such as AWS and Azure
- Strong proficiency in Python and Terraform
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Deep understanding of common attack vectors and how to detect and mitigate them
- Confident in explaining very technical topics at a high level
- Experience working in an on-call rotation
- Familiarity conducting forensic investigations of Windows, Mac, and Linux hosts
- Experience working on large, complex projects with product teams

Salary : $147,200 - $202,400
