Job Description
The Walkout Technician assists the engineering department by documenting and mapping new or existing cable plants, following specifications provided by the customer. This is a full-time, production-based, position. Walkout Technicians will perform field walkout assignments daily, over varying terrain, and in all weather conditions. Applicants should expect 100% travel and must be able to attend company provided training in February 2022.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform new build or as-built mapping
- Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications
- Follow guidelines to provide a detailed and accurate route of existing or new build plant
Additional Expectations
- Ability to interpret, comprehend, and utilize network maps
- Strong analytical, observational, and communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers
- Legible penmanship is a must
- Ability to learn new software and technologies
- Must be highly responsible and self-motivated
- Position is 100% travel so applicants must be able to adhere to this
Experience/Education Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of Telecommunications design/construction practices preferred.
- Good computer skills and proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Must be able to pass DOT required driving physical and drug/alcohol testing
