Maintain hard surface floors by buffing, stripping, and refinishing floors. Clean baseboards, corners, and doors. Perform finishing techniques to protect floors.

Vacuum and shampoo carpets to remove dirt and stains.

Perform special cleaning assignments; determine appropriate cleaning chemical used to clean various surfaces such as vinyl; painted surfaces; ceramic tile; carpet; metal, brick, wood, and cork surfaces, concrete wall surfaces. Clean vent covers.

Develop and maintain capable working relationships with coworkers and staff. Continually improves and develops skills and knowledge.

Maintain floor care equipment to include minor repairs and adequate chemical supplies needed to complete tasks.

Maintains a high level of productivity while working safely and dependably.

Adhere to the company rules, technical procedures and safety policies as may be communicated to employees verbally or in writing.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.

One or two years of public sector (hospital, school, etc.) related experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

Present a professional image and have a neatly groomed appearance while on duty.

Ability to read and understand service requests, container labels, product information, and directions on cleaning chemicals and other materials.

Ability to operate stripping, polishing, and shampooing equipment such as electrical buffing, scrubbing, and extractor machines, electric dry foam shampoo machine, vacuum, battery operated and self-propelled floor scrubber and carpet shampoo machines.

Ability to follow directions, understand work rules and procedures; accept constructive criticism and ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, hospital staff, and visitors.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, use hands to handle, and occasionally move about the facilities; may lift to 50lbs.
Ability to adhere to contract requirements and company policies, safety and health rules and regulations.-
Ability to adhere to all company mission, core values, policies and ethical practices.

Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Working Condition

Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.

Ability to be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors. Subject to hazards associated with working in a health care environment that may cause personal harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.

Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.

Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.

If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
