POSITION SUMMARY

This position supervises all accounting activities relating to accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash processing and posting. Oversees the accurate processing of all customer data as it is performed within accounting and customer service departments. Prepares monthly financial statements for approval to the CFO/COO.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
Coordinate all financial audit activity. Prepare schedules, journal entries and reports for the annual audit.
Supervise the processing of daily receipts, accounts receivable/collections, accounts payable and posting to the general ledger.
Monitor the individual performance of staff as it relates to data entry accuracy within the Accounting and Customer Service Departments. Providing solutions and training as needed. Works with Member Experience Manager and IT Department to achieve the PPA goals and objectives.
Perform various accounting tasks such as bank and account reconciliation. Prepare monthly journal entries, research and reporting in preparation for financial statements.
Completes personal property tax report, census reports and updates business license(s).
Responsible for all accounting and government filings relating to PPA's various funds and companies.
Assists with the implementation of new products, services and software.
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Complete various administrative duties including government and corporate documents/forms.
Oversee all accounting functions for PPA's conventions and competitions.
Maintain and organize all records, files and reports resulting from accounting activity.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 4-year College Degree or equivalent training/experience. 5 years of experience in the area of Accounting principles and practice, support/services.
SKILL SET: Highly organized with excellent follow-up skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly focused attention to detail. Advanced computer skills and ability to learn and utilize in-house specific software applications. Ability to work with a sense of urgency, in a fast-paced work environment.
Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing/testing software installations and advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software.
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to securing PPA's assets.
Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
Must be able to interact to find solutions in a cooperative way with other staff at all levels of the organization.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds without the assistance of another person.
