JOB SUMMARY:
The Family Support Program is designed to maintain the parent-child relationship and other family attachments and reduce the sense of abandonment children experience when placed outside of the home. The Family Support Specialist focuses on enhancing and supporting parenting skills and to identify and resolve problems before and after children return home.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FAMILY SUPPORT SPECIALIST:
- Evaluate youth and families for treatment needs and refer to appropriate resources.
- Analyze client situations and capabilities to determine services needed to address safety concerns.
- Implement, evaluate and review safety assessments and plans.
- Provide parent coaching during child/family interaction visitation.
- Intervene when necessary to prevent inappropriate behavior or to promote productive interactions.
- Provide designated parent curriculum in individual or group settings.
- Act as a resource to evaluate and determine necessary responses in de-escalating crisis situations with youth and families.
LOCATION: Office is based in Fort Atkinson, WI. Local travel will be required to complete client visits throughout Jefferson County, with mileage reimbursement. Position offers some flexibility to work remote when client visits are not scheduled. Must be able to meet in-person with clients in Jefferson County, Wisconsin.
SCHEDULE: Hours of work are varied/flexible and may include evenings and/or weekends to accommodate clients' needs.

SALARY: $19.00 per hour
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
- Must have at least 60 college/university credit hours toward a Human Services related degree or previous experience working with at-risk youth and families.
