The Day Habilitation Manager under the direction of the Community Services Coordinator - Jasper, exercises general supervision of the day-to-day operation of Day Habilitation program. Must be committed to the community based model of Day Habilitation programing.
Essential
- Assist in the hiring, orientation, training, of Day Habilitation (DSP) employees.
- Responsible for supervision, scheduling and evaluation of assigned Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s). Meet with them on a regular basis to empower them to produce positive outcomes and high quality services.
- Ensure that necessary records and documentation are maintained in accordance with policy and regulations. This includes review of service logs, GER s and CQI corrective actions.
- Coordinate programming between residential and day program components. Maintains close communication with Managers to coordinate programming. Communicate any potential community employment opportunities to the Community Services Coordinator.
- Routinely visit all community – based service locations to ensure that they are safe, sanitary and quality programs are being conducted.
- Manage the Day Habilitation program to ensure positive behavior supports for person served and quality service delivery.
- Assist in the enrollment and/or exit of persons served with final approval of HCBS Director and as specified by state/federal regulations.
- Attend Individual Support Plan (ISP) meetings for persons enrolled in the Day Habilitation Program.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 21 years of age.
- Subscribe to P.I.'s mission purpose and philosophies.
- AA degree in social services or human services related field (preferred). (Two years of applicable experience may be accepted for each year of education.)
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and good immediate decision-making.
- Must have a community-based philosophy and develop that belief in employees and persons served enrolled in the program
- Demonstrate "leadership ability" as it relates to supervision and training staff. Possess personnel management skills.
- Ability to be creative and aggressive in developing and implementing community integrated therapeutic and instructional curriculum and opportunities.
- Maintain a valid Iowa Drivers License with a good driving record, and a private automobile used to carry out job duties. Hold adequate liability insurance (required: $100,000/$300,000/$50,000).
