Responsibilities:
As a Hygienist, you are an essential member of our clinical team. You will partner with our talented doctors who are committed to providing excellent dental care to our patients. Responsibilities for the role include:
- Partnering with doctors in improving oral health, solving dental challenges, and bettering smiles every day
- Welcome patients in the dental office
- Prepare patients for treatments and ensure their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations
- Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance
- Educate and treat periodontally diseased patients
- Apply preventive materials to the teeth such as fluoride and sealants
- Take yearly radiographs of patients
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
- Tear down and sterilize treatment rooms
- Helping to educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies
- Document patient dental history and updates in Open Dental, as well as overall health and medication history
- Follow all OSHA guidelines and regulations
- Keep a clean, sanitized work area, and ensure the equipment is used properly to prolong the lifespan of the machines
- Interact with Front Desk, Dental Assistants, and other Hygienists daily, in a cooperative and friendly manner

Experience:
- Dental Hygienist: 1 years of experience preferred
License/Certification:
- Valid Dental Hygiene License
- Valid Local Anesthesia License (Not needed but is a plus)
- X-Ray Certification
