The Shipping Lead will maintain ownership of all aspects of the shipping department reporting directly to the Purchasing/Shipping Supervisor. This position utilizes the candidate’s skills and knowledge to efficiently process parts through the shipping cycle maintaining the traceability of parts as required. This position also controls the movement of parts into inventory. The ideal candidate will be Familiar with Microsoft Office Products, all common carrier requirements including, FedEx, UPS, DHL and International shipments. All necessary paperwork, including Packing Slips & all necessary Certification documents, Labels, Bills of Lading. Build wooden boxes. Pallet/Skid shipments, shrink-wrapped and/or banded.
Responsibilities:
• Full Cycle Shipping responsibility from when parts enter the area until they ship or go to stock.
• Ensure that standard procedures are followed in all aspects of work including certificate verification, inventory transactions, documentation, and material handling.
• Organize and coordinate shipments from final inspection and inventory per customer requirements.
• Maintain traceability of parts by verifying incoming material with Certifications.
• Maintain the integrity of parts through conscientious packaging practices.
• Verify packaging paperwork (counts, weights or measurement items).
• Facilitate the movement of parts in and out of the department.
• Visually inspect components for conformance to specifications.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
• Act as a role model, coach, and trainer for new associates to foster a team environment.
• Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Other responsibilities assigned by your supervisor.
Requirements
