Fiber Construction Manager

PRG  is seeking a talented, experienced, and driven Construction Project Manager to join our team to lead cable and fiber construction projects throughout Central New York State.

The position will manage the construction of fiber and coaxial cable plant by third-party contractors throughout central New York.  The manager will put together Statements of Work (SOWs), assist in identifying permitting requirements, and Notice-To-Proceed (NTP) packages for contractors, coordinate and schedule construction jobs, troubleshoot construction issues on site as necessary, oversee a quality control (QC) program, review contractor billing, and provide weekly reporting to management on the project.

Experience

• 5-10 years in the telecommunications or cable industry or construction field
• 5 years in outside plant construction, fiber-optic cabling. Power project experience a plus
• Experience managing contractors and coordinating multi-site construction projects
• Working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good attitude a must
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
• Candidate must have own vehicle in acceptable condition (to be determined by hiring manager)
• Mileage reimbursement will be paid at the standard federal rate.
