JOB SUMMARY |
To perform highly technical maintenance work in order to maintain structures, grounds, heating systems, air conditioning systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, machines, motors, plumbing, etc. This will be a second or third shift position.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Sets up, operates, maintains, and debugs automated CNC, PLC, and/or computer controlled equipment or processes.
- Performs diagnostic procedures and testing to determine and resolve equipment or process problems.
- Performs diagnostics down to circuit board level, with an understanding of "E-PROMs," solid state power supplies, UPS systems, software and/or ladder logic.
- Uses portable computer and onboard computer for data entry, in response to error messages and/or process interruptions. Understand programing and program interface with equipment operation.
- Acts decisively and with a sense of urgency to prevent or minimize down-time.
- Uses engineering drawings, blueprints, diagrams, layouts, written and verbal instructions to make repairs and/or to perform routine and preventative maintenance.
- Installs branch circuits, conduit, switches, starters, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, etc.
- Troubleshoots, repairs and rebuilds all types of machinery and equipment including hydraulic pumps and motors, electrical motors, gas engines, mechanical and electrical equipment, jibs, hoists, cranes, tools, and fixtures.
- Installs, repairs, removes and transports new equipment and maintains in good operating condition.
- Uses tape measures, rules, squares, and templates as necessary to perform the required operation and make accurate repairs.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work area clean and orderly.
- Reads, understands, and follow guidelines set forth by E.I.s and M.P.s, S.P.s and blueprints when performing assigned work.
- Repairs structures, heating systems, air conditioning systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, machines, motors, plumbing, etc. in a timely and accurate manner.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, various systems, and machines according to prescribed schedule.
- Assists the supervisor in the orientation and training of operators, maintenance personnel, and supervisors in the operation and maintenance of automated equipment, processes and peripheral equipment.
- Welds materials as needed for repairs and necessary maintenance.
- Instructs and assists other Maintenance workers.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures and actively participate in defined zero harm safety culture driven initiatives.
- Must successfully complete Arc Flashing Training initially after hiring and every 3 years
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES |
TOOLS AND MACHINERY
Overhead and jib cranes, forklifts, electric motors, air compressors, walk behind hydraulic lift, saws, drills, grinders, impact wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, and other equipment. Requires the ability to use micrometers, Vernier's, scales, protractors, recorders and other tools.

Paints, grease, oils, and others.
GENERAL
Works under minimal supervision and in accordance with industry, trade, and engineering standards, as well as, within standard shop manufacturing, safety and housekeeping practices. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Work varies from working at ground level to working in, on top of, and around machines and equipment that may be at a height of more than 6 feet from the floor. A demonstrated ability of the understanding of complex circuit diagrams, electrical schematics, printed circuit boards, power supplies, a thorough knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, air logic, safety interlock systems, ability to use multi-meters and current probes to check and diagnose AC/DC and low voltage circuits, transistors, capacitors, and diodes is required. Knowledge of mathematics, to include geometry, to determine equipment setup and operating tolerances, conformance to specifications and calculating electrical loads is required. A proven attendance record of "very good" and willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, as necessary to maintain equipment and processes is required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with prior maintenance experience
