Business Process Analyst
This role supports activities related to process improvement/optimization, project management, change management, business operations, and reporting. This role resides within the Operational Excellence team; a Lean Six Sigma process improvement department which includes change management and program management. This role will be deployed on efforts to optimize Prologis’s business and operational execution; Efforts will range from real estate operations, supporting technology systems, corporate functions, sales efforts, & new product line stand up.
The Business Process Analyst facilitates strategic conversations with business partners to elicit, analyze, document, communicate, and validate business requirements and processes. The Business Process Analyst will obtain process requirements for business, financial, and operations systems. This includes researching and analyzing data in support of business functions, process knowledge, and systems requirements. The Business Process Analyst is responsible for generating reports that include recommended improvements, new requirements, improved business processes, and operational procedures. This individual will have excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
The Business Process Analyst will also be responsible for supporting project coordination/execution in conjunction with a program manager. The Business Process Analyst should be intuitive and adaptive to meet project objectives and schedule requirements. Their ability to be self-motivated and forward thinking to support a project is what will make them successful.
What’s needed to do that:
Partnership & Communications
- Elicit process requirements from heterogeneous stakeholders in dispersed markets.
- Facilitate group discussions and meetings, and utilize continuous improvement techniques and tools from Lean and Six-Sigma methodologies.
- Liaise with various business groups to facilitate the implementation of new or improved business processes.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the business’ needs to drive innovation, efficiency, and value to the organization.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize requirements, evaluate solutions, identify potential risks, define proposed solutions, and propose interim workarounds.
- Support project Change Manager in analyzing the impact of change on various business partners, processes, & systems
Documentation & Analytics
- Provides initial assessment of a situation and researches best practices, trends and historical data, policies and procedures, methods, and practices.
- Analyze and document current-state versus future-state business processes.
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes.
- Develop, standardize, and maintain new/improved processes based on findings and analysis.
- Analyze the effectiveness/efficiency of existing processes for optimization.
- Work independently with minimal direction, with equal ability to work collaboratively with the team.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
- 5 plus years of business analyst experience.
- Some Lean and Six-Sigma exposure
- Some project management skills; Drive project execution by tracking, organizing, and communicating on tasking, schedule, and stakeholder needs.
- Practical knowledge in the use of data for reports, spreadsheets, graphs, and flowcharts.
- Ability to apply statistical and other research methods.
- Ability to understand the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Able to exercise independent judgment and take action on it.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses (ROI) for new efforts & proposed changes.
- Instinct to ask relevant, probing questions that get to the “why” behind business requests.
- Comfortable with consensus building and soliciting constructive feedback.
- Proven track record to make recommendations and decisions that balance a variety of factors (e.g., cost, risk, short-term vs. long-term impact) and are supported by a sound fact-base to achieve an efficient outcome.
Target base compensation range of: $85,000-$103,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
