What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contract Specialist - Physician Services Coordinator position at ProMedica?
POSITION SUMMARY
Prepares physician (collectively, “provider”) contracting documents and intercompany agreements to ensure that they are accurate and comply with established guidelines. Assists ProMedica Care Partners with its efforts to enter contractual arrangements for medical director and other provider services and collaborate agreements between providers and physicians.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Manage and maintain ProMedica Care Partners’ provider contracts and records.
2. Prepares provider contractual agreements and letters of understanding in accordance with ProMedica standards.
3. Manage and maintain records to ensure credentialing and contractual processes are done in timely and compliant manner.
4. Works closely with the Legal department and ProMedica Care Partners staff to ensure accuracy and compliance of contracts.
5. Ensures timely execution of physician contracts.
6. Prepares addendum(s) to existing agreements based on renegotiations, the addition of duties/compensation, change in status, etc.
7. Participates as a project team leader on strategic initiatives of ProMedica Care Partners.
8. Serves as a liaison between ProMedica Care Partners and ProMedica Senior Care Business Units to ensure intercompany contract requests are completed in a timely manner.
9. Assists ProMedica Senior Care Business Units with facilitating negotiations, reviews, and approvals of requested intercompany documents so that they are finalized accurately, in a timely fashion.
10. Drafts correspondence to providers, legal department, and business unit administration, as necessary, to convey negotiated information.
11. Provides weekly and as updates to the Director of Business Operations on the status of documents assigned.
12. May assist in facilitating third party-reviews of compensation and benefits arrangements that fall outside of established guidelines.
13. Assists with administrative onboarding of Medical Directors to include but not limited to coordination of interviews, credentialing, contracting and orientation.
14. Serves as primary point of contact for ProMedica Care Partner related questions and concerns.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Paralegal or Bachelors-level Degree with strong background in contract Law or equivalent practical experience.
Skills: Must be proficient with Microsoft office products. Requires effective organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Must demonstrate and promote a strong commitment to achieving customer satisfaction. Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. May be required to lift or carry light equipment or supplies occasionally.
