We are looking for an AWESOME Education Consultant to work within the New York City boroughs to help with professional development for teachers as well as some technical trouble shooting in the New York City schools. The ideal candidate is energetic, tech savvy, and passionate about education and teaching.
\n- Contractor position to work ½ day or full day onsite delivering training/professional development in schools
- The contractor is paid based on hours they work per week, up to a maximum of 20 hours
- Provide professional development and on-going support to Promethean customers and build long term relationships securing future hardware, software, and services sales
- Strong organizational skills to schedule and follow up with multiple schools at a time
- Raise awareness in assigned accounts/schools of Promethean hardware and software products and Promethean professional development offerings
- Deliver in-person, classroom training in front of large groups of educators, administrators, and high-level school personnel – on all Promethean products and other educational technology
- Work with customers to determine appropriate audiences, learning outcomes, identify key content, and determine/recommend optimal delivery methods for professional development offerings
- Liaise and coordinate with principals and senior district staff to build capacity and support positive changes in schools through Promethean’s offerings
- Maintain/manage schools in assigned territory scheduling/delivering all professional development/training sold into that territory
- Live in the Chicago area and can travel between schools within the Chicago Public School District
- Are available to work part-time during typical school hours / school days
- At least 5 years of teaching experience (as the main instructor) in a US classroom
- IWB experience in both training and content/lesson development
- Results-driven, well organized, flexible, and have strong follow-up skills
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to excite/relate to educators at all levels/in all subject areas
- Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to speak in front of large groups of educators is essential
- Firm understanding of the pedagogy of teaching and learning – shown through the ability to develop / design / deliver exceptional professional development/training support
- High levels of knowledge on all aspects of educational technology, technology integration, and current education technology trends
- A demonstrated understanding of and experience with research-based approaches to the teaching of reading, writing, mathematics, and Common Core
- Effective management and delivery of high-quality professional development on behalf of Promethean
- Energetic, flexible, and ‘do whatever you can to make it work’ attitude/ability to excite, stimulate, and engage educators in training situations
Half Day Rate: $350
Full Day Rate: $700
