Data Visualization Analyst

As a Healthcare Economics Data Visualization Analyst in the Healthcare Economics Department, you will be responsible for developing and presenting large amounts of information in ways that are universally understandable or easy to interpret and spot patterns, trends, and correlations. These representations include charts, graphs, infographics, and other pictorial diagrams. Data visualization analysts use visualization tools and software to communicate information in these ways, for clients or for their own company. It is intended that this role will closely collaborate with the Enterprise Data Warehouse team to ensure appropriate levels of detail are available for desired outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining user-friendly data visualizations and dashboards using complex datasets from different sources.
• Implementing best practices to ensure dashboard design consistency for the best user experience.
• Making large and/or complex data more accessible, understandable and usable.
• Transforming, improving and integrating data, depending on the business requirements.
• Combining data result sets across multiple sources (data federation).
• Delivering the data in a useful and appealing way to users.
• Working with data and business analysts to create user stories.
  

Required Qualifications:

• 5 years experience required in a Business or Systems Analysis role in a large enterprise environment AND Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar field.

• 2 years experience as an administrator working with Microsoft Power BI Desktop, Service and Portals.

• 2 years experience working with Agile framework developing software applications.

• Must have experience with PowerBI DAX functions to create advanced functions/ formulas, filtering and formatting.

• Strong SQL background.

• Experience working with Microsoft Azure DevOps is desired but not essential.

• Project management experience is desired but not essential.

• Problem solving skills; the ability to systematically analyze problems, draw relevant conclusions and devise appropriate courses of action.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information from others.

• Dependable and reliable work ethic.

• Communication skills, both written and oral.
