Description
The Assistant Director, Preaching Congregations Initiatives (PCi) will be an experienced preacher with expertise in the arts.
Duties:
- Provide collaborative wisdom and program design/consultation as member of PCi Core Leadership Team
- Provide program leadership and content development in person, online, and on demand
- Assist with preaching cohort recruitment
- Provide expert coaching on preaching
- Assist with implementation of cohorts, seminars, residencies, and retreats within existing contract hours (supplemental contract possible if program demand and budget allow)
Qualifications
Candidate Qualifications:
- Deep knowledge of, and gifts in, preaching and the arts, especially in underrepresented communities, to inform PCi programming
- Strong writing and clear communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to follow-through on agreed commitments
- Ability to work from home and willingness to travel
- Theological orientation congruent with Episcopal tradition
- Graduate Degree(s) preferably in theology and/or education
Preferred:
- Ability to teach art-making (painting, drawing, dance, music-making, poetry…)
- Ability to travel to visit preachers and congregations in situ
- Bi-lingual Spanish/English
Location of Work:
- The terms of this contract may be satisfied by working off-site. A minimum of bi-weekly communication with supervisor and Program Manager is required.
