What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Manager position at Provenance Hotel?
JOB SUMMARY
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Human Resources Manager is primarily responsible for handling all human resources activities in the Hotel in a manner consistent with the strategy and policies of the Company. The Human Resources Manager may also assist with human resources activities companywide as necessary. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day tasks of the Human Resources department, including but not limited to tasks relating to recruitment and hiring, employee relations, training and development, compensation and benefits, compliance with all applicable employment Federal, State and Local laws and regulations regarding employment practices (e.g., EEO, FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FEHA, etc.).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)
Implement policies and practices to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
Serve as an internal consultant to management on all issues of employment, benefits, talent development, compensation, leave, performance management, discipline, termination, and safety.
Utilize professionalism and appropriate levels of confidentiality in handling employee personnel matters.
Prepare and post advertisements for job vacancies, respond to applicant's inquiries, schedule and conduct interviews, conduct reference checks, gather information and complete all required documentation for newly hired employees.
Oversee new employee orientation and training.
Participate in employee performance reviews, while maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality in employee documents.
Manage employer-sponsored community and employee events, to include employee appreciation, holiday party, etc.
Develop policies and procedures for the employee relations function of the Hotel, implement and coordinate approved policies.
Act as a liaison between employees and staff and help facilitate the proper resolution of real or perceived inequities, complaints, or disputes.
Manage enrollment process for employee group benefits offered by the company. Manage the implementation, administration, and communication of Hotel benefit programs, monitor plan eligibility, confer with providers and third- party administering agencies, and interpret plan policies, coverage documents, and benefits procedural requirements.
Maintain accurate employment records, including personnel files.
Investigates accidents and prepares employee accident/witness reports.
Manages all Unemployment and Worker’s compensation claims.
