Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Manager Coding, CVL/IR to work remotely within our footprint states: AK, CA, MT, OR, TX and/or WA.

The Manager Coding, CVL.IR is responsible for developing, operationalizing, and monitoring a centralized coding team and it's processes in support of the Providence Health System (including affiliates) CVL/IR coding team leading to the compliant, and timely coding of patient encounters for use in claim submission, and regulatory, quality, and population health reporting to support the delivery of safe and effective patient care.

This leader, in collaboration with the Director, Specialty Coding and Charge Capture, manages the planning and operational direction of coding support for the system. This leader, in collaboration with direct-report managers, is responsible for the coordination and administration of DNFC follow-up, KPI reporting and dashboards, application maintenance, and workflow optimization functions for the CVL/IR Coding team ensuring organizational performance is in alignment with the short term and long-term coding goals of the Providence health system.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides management and oversight of coding staff.
  • Provides management and oversight of the development of standardized policies, procedures, and practices related to the coding of CVL/IR services across all Regions.
  • Designs and delivers methods to measure and communicate KPIs and other metrics for the CVL/IR coding function to include routine reporting, ad hoc reporting and dashboards
  • Designs and delivers methods of follow-up, expedite, and escalate account level issues preventing coding from being completed
  • Designs and delivers workflow optimizations to increase accuracy and/or productivity of the coding team.
  • Communicates ideas or positions in a persuasive manner that builds support, agreement, or commitment
  • Establishes strong relationships with external stakeholders such as CFOs, Providers, Compliance, Revenue Integrity, Payer-yield, Information Services, and other departments within the organization.

Required qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management/Coding/Healthcare Administration
  • 3 years Experience in medical coding and auditing with thorough knowledge of CPT,ICD-10, and HCC coding principles.
  • 7 years Extensive background in all aspects of coding operations, data management and reporting, coding software applications.
