What are the responsibilities and job description for the HSE Coordinator position at Prysmian Group?
Duties and Responsibilities:
Interacts with other functions in the daily operations of site activities. These consist of, but may not be limited to:
- Plant Safety program - Safety and behavior audits
- Workplace safety incidents - Follow first responder(s) with investigation and fact finding, work with HR and any employees involved for remediation and follow up. Document as necessary any information about incident. Reconcile incident in whatever manner necessary , within ability to do so.
- Safety committee meetings - Organize and possibly chair, and reconcile action items
- PPE requirements - Assist personnel in acquiring appropriate equipment. Perform safety assessments as directed. Periodic audits of PPE compliance
- Take care of fire equipment - Extinguisher inventory, fire detection maintenance, sprinkler maintenance
- Industrial waste management - Waste inventory, documentation, arranging disposal and resolving spill incidents
- Maintenance of OSH A program compliance - Lockout / tagout program, Haz Comm program, OSH A 300 reporting system
- Maintenance of regulator y programs - Storm water compliance audits
- Hazardous materials and waste
- Assist management in the effective and efficient implementation of HSE policy and objectives.
- Assist continuous improvement efforts throughout the plant
- Participate in 6S program (Prysmian initiative)
- Safety indoctrination for em*plo*yees, contractors, and visitors.
- Maintenance and promotion of any water and / or power saving initiatives
- Maintain training pertaining to HSE.
- Works with production supervision and management in preparing personnel and services to facilitate an efficient operation plan on site.
- Ensures the implementation and maintenance of the integrated QHSE management system for the site.
- Any other duties that may be relevant due to experience, capability , knowledge, and education that may be directed by superior management personnel.
Required Education:
- College degree in technical discipline or equivalent, is desirable.
Required Sk*ills: *
- Proficient using MS Office and standard office applications.
- A*bility to organize and m*aintain multiple priorities.
- Good re*cordkeeping and documentation abilit*y.
- A*bility to clearl*y communicate the HSE program* to m*anagement as w*ell as hourly personnel. *
- Effective verbal and w*ritten communication is essential. *
Required Experience: A*t least three (3) y*ears in an industrial environment.
