Job Summary
The Manager of Integrated Work Management is a key leader in Electric Operations that leads a team of Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Managers to ensure that all areas are operating in alignment with the Integrated Work Plan, which represents a physical workforce of 1,100 people and an annual budget of $700M (Capital and O&M).
This position establishes clear process flows as well as roles and responsibilities for work execution and delivery to assure timely and effective completion of both the capital and expense portfolios.
This position ensures that all work is completed with the optimal use of resources, within required time frames, within budget, in alignment with the unit completion plan, and in alignment with associated Metric and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets.
This position monitors work management information to ensure that short-term schedules are developed and executed in alignment with the Integrated Work Plan, and guides operating area Managers to correct identified deficiencies.
This position leads workforce effectiveness meetings, identifies areas of opportunity, and guides Managers on strategies and tactics to drive operational efficiencies and achieve continuous improvement in overall workforce effectiveness.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all Directors, Managers and decision makers across electric operations and construction and operations services areas to ensure efficient execution of $700M annual work plan, with focus on:
- scheduling and execution of specific work in alignment with the work plan, budget, and unit completion plan
- assuring appropriate volumes of construction ready work are available to support operating areas in alignment with the work plan
- identification of underperforming areas, and guiding operating leadership on strategies and tactics to achieve workforce effectiveness improvements
- routine status updates to senior leadership and LIPA in pertinent areas of work management
- Translate identified high level work and unit volumes from the integrated work plan, representing a physical workforce of 1,100 people, into specific work/jobs to be executed at the work management level. Lead all operating areas with the development and execution of accurate short term schedules, in strict alignment with the work plan.
- Develop KPI's focused on island wide workforce operating efficiency and provide senior leadership with data driven strategies for workforce optimization. Lead in execution of workforce optimization activities.
- Lead in the development, maintenance and distribution of pertinent work management information required to achieve continuous improvement in all areas of Work Management such as work plan variance, schedule compliance, overtime, utilization and productivity. Initiate and lead in the integration of information into the operating and support areas to drive appropriate data driven decisions such as work prioritization, scheduling decisions, crew size and allocation.

Job Specific Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field
- 8 years of experience in Project/Resource management, scheduling and work planning
- Minimum 3 years supervisor and/or management experience
- Demonstrated leadership capability to coordinate Director and Manager level employees for efficient development and implementation of short, mid and long term strategic initiatives.
- High level proficiency in process analysis and optimization, with the ability to creatively solve problems and implement process improvements. Must be highly effective with change management implementation.
- Verified ability to independently manage multiple initiatives in different phases of discovery, development, deployment and maintenance
- Requires expert level skills in business and financial analysis and modeling, project management, and risk analysis.
- Requires demonstrated ability to be persistent, persuasiveness, and display strong history of successful negotiation through oral and written communication and effective presentation skills.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and team building skills, and be adept in the area of conflict resolution.
- Experience developing key reports and integrating business information in a self-service analytics environment
- Proficiency or ability to quickly become proficient with BI toolset (ea. Tableau/Tableau Server)
- Demonstrated SAP experience and familiarity with the development and implementation of Capital, O&M, Third Party, and Surcharge budgeting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, SharePoint) and Primavera P6
- Ability to fulfill "manager on call" responsibilities during off hours including leadership of division storm efforts and other significant ED system events.
Desired
- Master’s of Science in Business Administration, Construction Management, or equivalent
- NY State Professional Engineering License, PMP Certification, or similar accreditation
- Knowledge of SAP System notification logic, work order logic, plant maintenance and/or customer service modules
- Experience and knowledge of utility operations
