About being our Civil Engineer Designer - Water
As a Civil Engineer Designer supporting our Water/Wastewater/Stormwater Engineering Team in our San Diego office, you'll utilize your expertise and expand your skills to contribute work performed and assist our team with planning, analyses and design of water, wastewater, recycled water and stormwater infrastructure projects including, pipelines, pumping stations, wells, reservoirs, stormwater, flood control, streambank stabilization and linear parks and related facilities. The San Diego Engineering team is a dynamic group of seasoned professionals!
Responsibility Highlights for our Civil Engineer Designer - Water
- Work under moderate supervision, providing support to a project team on a broad range of project assignments
- Help with the development of projects and conventional aspects of engineering
- Research and analysis of hydraulics, hydrology, and water/sewer
- Support the development of technical reports, calculations, and cost/quantity estimates
- Prepare plans and profiles and develop sewer/water models
- Coordinate with agencies for permitting approval
- Assist with grading, hydraulics, hydrology, water, sewer, and storm drain
- Perform field verifications and design of wastewater and water infrastructure projects and participate in site visits and meetings
- Investigate and support utility design
Minimum Qualifications to be our Civil Engineer Designer - Water
- Bachelors in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in civil engineering design
- Experience in pipeline plan and profile drawings
Preferred Qualifications to be our Civil Engineer Designer - Water
- Piping/mechanical design of pump stations and pressure regulating stations
- Design of water storage reservoirs
- Knowledge of water quality, SWPPP, and TMDL
- Working knowledge of Civil 3D and MS Office Suite
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software
- Experience using GIS software for data processing and analyses
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification or can be obtained within 1 year of hire
- ENV SP preferred (or can obtain within 2 years of hire)
