Job Summary:

This position resides in the Quality department and involves, primarily, technical account responsibility for welding and heat treatment operations. The incumbent will report to the Quality Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide manufacturing and/or technical knowledge and skills to support PTC Liberty Tubulars business processes to meet business goals.
  • Development and optimization of process control parameters for Welding and Heat Treatment operations to ensure compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of an effective and sustainable Lean Manufacturing program to reduce manufacturing waste.
  • Coordination of mill trials with the intent of further improving quality and productivity.
  • Development and implementation of standard data collection plans and reporting techniques.
  • Produce standard graphical analysis where required to support improvement activities.
  • Disposition of non-conforming product
  • Product qualification and report generation.
  • Support Testing Laboratory to ensure customer requirements are met and testing is carried out in an efficient and controlled manner.
  • Work with equipment designers, manufacturing and maintenance teams to develop cost effective and efficient production procedures.
  • Assist / lead in the identification, prioritization and execution of corrective actions to address issue which impact the process on a daily basis.
  • Ensure absolute adherence to all safety and quality standards and process requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications


Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements: 

Education: Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science, with relevant work experience. Pipe and tube manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of Physical Metallurgy and Heat Treatment best practices.
  • Knowledge of High Frequency (HF) welding process
  • Advanced Manufacturing process knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Process and Product Control Methodologies
  • Ability to work with and/or lead people to achieve positive results
  • Knowledge of API 5CT, API 5L and APIQ1 is a plus.
