What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Designer position at PTS Advance?
Responsibilities will involve providing AutoCAD Civil 3D assistance for solid waste and environmental projects serving both private and municipal clients. Our primary focus lies in horizontal construction, necessitating proficiency in tasks such as creating plan and profile views, generating cross-sections, handling intricate grading, and managing cut/fill balance. Collaboration with our engineering team will involve incorporating mark-ups, preparing illustrations, and drafting permit and construction drawings. Supported by a dedicated team, you will independently manage assigned tasks and projects. This role will be based in our Tampa office, although candidates may opt for remote, hybrid, or in-office arrangements within the southeastern region, depending on their level of experience.
How You Can Make a Difference:
- Independently prepare sheet sets, design, draft, detail, and layout graphics with minimal supervision.
- Develop site plan layouts from existing maps, incorporate revisions to current drawings, assess surveys of existing conditions, and more.
- Create detailed permit and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Conduct volume calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Proficiency in creating and managing design surfaces, integrating them with existing conditions.
- Adhere to and implement AutoCAD standards and best practices.
- Support drafting and AutoCAD tasks under the guidance of senior professionals.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of drafting experience.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Over 2 years of experience in grading landfills, gypsum stacks, coal combustion residuals, or large-scale mining operations.
- Preference for candidates with experience in engineering consulting firms.
- Must be based in our Tampa office.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
