What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Control Engineer position at PTS Advance?
Our client, a major refinery, is currently looking for a detailed-oriented Cost Engineer for the Turnaround team in Anacortes, WA.
Long-term opportunity.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the estimating, tracking, forecasting, and reporting of a major Turnaround in 2025. This role involves close collaboration with planners, schedulers, procurement, and other stakeholders to ensure the turnaround is completed within budget and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain cost estimate sheets.
• Work with schedulers and contractors to validate estimates.
• Collaborate with contractors to develop staffing plans and communicate variances to estimates.
• Monitor contractor force reports against plans during the event.
• Meet with contractors to review cost status and forecasts during the event.
• Assist the Cost Controller with event forecasts during the event.
• Attend daily event cost and schedule status meetings.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience as a Cost Engineer or in a similar role within the industry.
• Strong understanding of cost control principles, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills are a plus).
• Experience with PowerBI is preferable.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Hourly wage: $65-$85 (depending on experience)
