The Environmental Permitting Specialist will coordinate with project teams, manage environmental permitting processes, and ensure compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with project teams to complete field surveys, obtain environmental permits from federal, state, and local agencies, and review project reports and materials.
- Interface daily with various agencies to obtain approvals, submit permit applications, and provide timely responses.
- Apply technical and innovative solutions to environmental permitting challenges.
- Advise clients and team members on strategies for obtaining permits and maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Manage project tasks within budget and schedule expectations.
- Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel as necessary for project or client commitments, including weekends.
- B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Biology, Ecology, or a related field from an accredited program
- Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in consulting.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local permitting requirements, including those related to wetlands, threatened and endangered species, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, stormwater, erosion and sediment control, cultural resources, architectural history, and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate effectively with a team.
- Ability to manage tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and communicate professionally with regulators, public officials, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must meet the company's vehicle driving standards as per the Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
