Duties and Responsibilities
- Works to support efficient use of Medicaid dollars and the identification and implementation of tactics to improve long term financial sustainability with the goal of reducing the level and need for State subsidy
- Provides team leadership for specific projects and oversight of the healthcare financial analyst staff
- Responsible for the evaluation and analyses of NYS Article 28 licensed healthcare facility financial needs, including quantification, implementation, and monitoring of provider transformation plans associated with funding received from State operating subsidy programs and capital grant awards
- Analyzes and monitors provider cash flow budgets, financial statements, and other provider applications and requests for financial assistance
- Actively participates in conference calls and meetings with distressed facility leadership and staff, as well as DOH and other State stakeholder groups such as Department of Budget and Grants Management Bureau
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years of work experience in Financial Analysis
- Strong Excel modeling skills needed to evaluate and effectively communicate trends in provider financial performance
*Employees must follow established work schedules. The usual work schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Normal work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise specified by the supervisor, this includes a half hour unpaid lunch break. Total work hours must equal 40 hours per week.
