The Public Health Project Manager is responsible for managing one or more public health projects for NNCC. These projects are funded by various funding sources, including federal and state grants and private corporations. The Manager acts as the direct liaison with the funding agencies, and is responsible for the day to day activities of the program and all reporting responsibilities. Projects may include AmeriCorps program oversight and relevant projects. Positions are located in Philadelphia, but may be local, regional, or national in scope. The Public Health Project Manager will report directly to Senior Project Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for all reporting related to the individual grant requirements, establish program policies and procedures and create and manage service provider contracts to ensure deliverables are met. This position will also manage project budgets, establish and purchase supplies on behalf of program and supervise one or more staff, AmeriCorps member(s) and/or intern(s).
Project Oversight:
Oversee all aspects of AmeriCorps Program(s), including day-to-day operations and compliance with project deliverables.
Monitor project expenditures and budgets, with support of Senior Project Manager.
Communicate regularly with AmeriCorps program funders.
Communicate regularly with AmeriCorps program site supervisors and members.
Support creation of web-based professional development opportunities for AmeriCorps members to collaborate during their service year, both through teleservice and in-person service.
Recruit new AmeriCorps member candidates for open positions and onboard as needed.
Support submission of proposals and grants to further NNCC AmeriCorps programming.
Creating and managing service provider contracts.
Staff Oversight:
Supervise Public Health Project Coordinator, AmeriCorps Member, and/or Intern
Manage and support AmeriCorps members throughout service year
Strategic Partnership Development:
Work with the Senior Project Manager to represent NNCC's AmeriCorps and workforce development programs.
Support recruitment of new AmeriCorps host sites through internal and external partner communications. Convening quarterly meetings with partners and developing agendas
Support AmeriCorps members in professional development opportunities through seeking and developing partnerships with consultants.
Support NNCC’s development of additional public health topics for AmeriCorps members
SKILLS:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to express him/herself concisely and clearly.
Experience developing training and educational materials to present to large audience
Professional, friendly demeanor and strong verbal presentation skills by phone and in person.
Confidence to communicate effectively with nonprofit leadership, community organization leadership, and federal officials related to the program.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work collaboratively with a team including internal staff and external partners.
Experience processing vendor contracting, invoicing and fiscal budgeting
Strong supervisory skills
EXPERIENCE:
At least two years of experience in development, program management for public health field.
Very strong organizational and managerial skills, including the ability to: prioritize work projects, execute multiple important tasks, support management of program budgets, supervise staff, manage time effectively and communicate clearly with supervisors.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
Experience with webinar and/or virtual meeting hosting and management
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelors of Science or Arts
EDUCATION PREFERRED:
Masters in Public Health (or related field)
