Job Overview:

This is a part-time position in the Division of Disease Control, Tuberculosis Control Program (TBC). This is a good opportunity for students interested in public health. This position reports to the Program Administrator. TBC is responsible for the surveillance, investigation, prevention, treatment and control of tuberculosis (TB) in the City of Philadelphia. This position works with all the different teams of TBC to support activities related to screening, testing and treatment of refugees for tuberculosis infection.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in answering phone calls from refugees to schedule for TB testing
  • Assist with processing and entering needed data into data base
  • Help direct refugees where to complete their evaluation as needed
  • Assist with processing and sending out test results
  • Assist with other related duties as required

Minimum Training & Experience:

  • Working on an Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferably in public health, health administration, statistics, or other health related science
  • Demonstrated interest in public health
  • Knowledge of basics of infectious disease

Note:

Bilingual preferred, Russian/Ukrainian

Salary Range:

20 hrs./week: Starting at $18.00/hr
