What you’ll do:

As a Product Compliance lead for the UK & Europe, you’ll report to the General Manager of Public’s international business and work closely with product, engineering, design, legal and compliance to ensure Public’s many products remain compliant in new markets. This is a portfolio role which will touch onto many different parts of the business and you’ll be leading on important projects and day-to-day duties such as:

  • Oversight of the Regulatory Compliance and AML/CTF Framework within the EU/UK to ensure Public remains compliant with regulatory requirements and best practices in each region. 
  • Localisation of Public’s app to meet the needs of EU/UK customers and regulators. 
  • Play a central role in enabling Public to become a licensed brokerage in different jurisdictions by scoping and leading our regulatory application in new markets. 
  • Support internal teams and stakeholders with compliance guidance, expertise and advisory. 
  • Owning strategic compliance projects for the UK - such as setting policies, frameworks, processes and tools to improve Public’s KYC, AML, onboarding, compliance and risk practices. 
  • You may be asked to act as a registered person with a local regulator. 

This role is a perfect fit if you have prior compliance experience in the UK or Europe and are keen to work closely on an investment product that will impact millions of customers. As Public’s international growth progresses, this person will be able to continuously own strategic projects and lead a growing team over time. 

Who you are:

  • 5 years experience working in FinTech or Financial Services, either in Compliance, Product Compliance or in a regulatory role.
  • You’re familiar with FCA and MIFID II guidelines for retail investing and comfortable working through the handbooks and materials when needed. 
  • Comfortable leading a new function in a new market for Public, and become a coach to a growing team over time. 
  • Deeply interested in markets & investing (especially personally!)

Bonus Points:

  • Experience within brokerage, capital markets or retail investing in the UK or EEA. 
  • Based in London, Copenhagen or Amsterdam with remote working possible
