SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Staff Accountant will perform Income Audit duties, Accounts Payable duties and assist with month end close process and perform account reconciliations. The Staff Accountant will report to the Director of Finance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Be an ambassador for PUBLIC by meeting and exceeding PUBLIC core objectives and values.
- Be fully accountable for the people, product and profit within the hotel.
- Contribute to the strategic development of PUBLIC.
- Reconcile and post daily income audit entries
- Post and reconcile the accounts payable of the hotel.
- Research and respond to guest inquiries including chargebacks.
- Assist the Finance leaders during the month-end process by reviewing and analyzing the financial statement.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Assist in month-end closings by preparing journal entries and schedules monthly.
- Review the profit and loss discrepancies and correct them before closing the month.
- Perform adhoc reporting as requested by the Finance leaders.
- Assist in overseeing the orderly storage and filing of hotel records.
- Ensure that PUBLIC reporting procedures are aligned with applicable SOP.
- Undertake regular internal inspections to ensure PUBLIC’s assets are well maintained and protected.
- Protect the name of the hotel and PUBLIC and ensure that no actions are taken within, or in the name of, the hotel that could bring PUBLIC into disrepute.
- Ensure compliance with all hotel policies and procedures at all levels.
- All other responsibilities, tasks and special projects as assigned by leadership.
