Clinical Lab Assistant: Salary Range: $16.53 - $17.50 an hour

Job Summary:
Perform testing on quality control samples and patient samples in a CLIA waived or moderately complex clinical laboratory.
Reports to:
Clinical Lab Supervisor
Supervision Exercised:
- None
Education/Experience/License/Certification:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years phlebotomy experience.
- Certification in phlebotomy preferred.
- Minimum 1year experience in laboratory specimen processing preferred.
- Experience performing CLIA waived point-of-care testing preferred.
- Experience using electronic health records preferred.
- Experience in basic office procedures including but not limited to computer use and fax use.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance as required by law.
Required Travel:
- Occasional travel is required including day-to-day local travel
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Ensure the function and activities of this department to embrace the philosophy, mission, values and Communicate with Heart service model supported by the Board of Directors of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
- Adhere to the guidelines and procedures of Pueblo Community Health Center, Inc.
- Perform routine point-of-care tests approved by current CLIA certification.
- Assist the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to maintain point-of-care inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies needed for testing.
- Assist the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to troubleshoot and maintain all point-of-care laboratory test equipment and analyzers
- Perform daily quality control samples.
- Report findings to the Clinical Lab Supervisor.
- Assist the phlebotomy team with difficult collections as needed.
- Assist the phlebotomy team with specimen adequacy requirements.
- Assist in training for all employees required to perform point-of-care testing
