Puesto is looking for a Lead Host!
Time and Attendance:
Time and Attendance:
- Arrive on time and “floor-ready” for scheduled shifts while following dress code guidelines and standards.
- Clock in and out for each scheduled shift and shift break.
- Abide by all Puesto Guidelines as per the Puesto Handbook.
Guest Relations:
- Create a welcoming and hospitable environment for guests as the ‘first encounter’ of our restaurants.
- Properly answer guest inquiries with regards to restaurant hours, and basic operational information, menus, reservation, and all other FAQ’s.
- Demonstrate an ability to recognize certain regulars, Puesto leaders, food critics, and industry professionals.
- Multi-task and demonstrate athleticism when “finding the yes” for all guests.
Leadership and Communication:
- Demonstrate leadership within the Front Door team and set a professional tone for all FOH staff.
- Act as a liaison between the guest, management team, FOH team, and kitchen by communicating effectively.
- Demonstrate professionalism when speaking to guests and colleagues.
- Work with efficiency and a sense of urgency while remaining composed- multi-task with grace and poise.
- Quote accurate wait times to guests during service.
- Effectively and accurately use the Chits system to communicate guest information.
- Always look to “drive the books” while taking into consideration the team’s capacity and the guests' needs.
Open Table:
- Have a strong working knowledge of Open Table functions required during service and when planning ahead. This includes, but is not limited to status changes, use of the waitlist function, guest searches, making/editing reservations.
- Add accurate guest notes so that the service team can enhance our guest’s experience.
- Demonstrate an understanding of reservations booking strategies. Coordinate with management to “drive the books” and boost cover counts in the bar and dining rooms.
- Understanding of basic Open Table troubleshooting if/when the system presents issues.
Operations:
- Act as the anchor at the front door and delegate to the host team as needed for seating, chit distribution, and OT updates.
- Show an ability to handle reservations requests accurately and creatively.
- Possesses the ability to field questions with regards to special reservations and basic private dining information.
- Demonstrate an ability to lead the host team but know when to seek assistance when needed.
- Takes responsibility for the cleanliness and appropriate presentation of the host stand
- Welcomes feedback on performance.
