What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Girls Swim Coach position at Pullman School District 267?
DEFINITION OF POSITION: To develop and maintain a successful girls swim program
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Athletics and Activities Director
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Evidence of successful competitive playing and/or coaching experience
- Must be 21 years old per WIAA regulations
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Ability to obtain a Pullman School District Type II driver’s license upon hire
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- College/University training or experience in the activity
- Coaching experience at the middle school level or higher
ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED ACTIVITIES:
- Work positively with student athletes to teach essential athletic skills necessary to compete, teach proper attitudes to play the sport competitively, and teach proper attitudes regarding winning gracefully and losing with dignity
- Inventory management and responsibility
- Budget management, applying established procedures and accounting processes
- Meet preparation and finding meet officials
- Positive presentation of the program to the community
- Work within guidelines of WIAA, Great Northern League, and the Pullman School District
- Complete required WIAA rules clinic and concussion training
- Willingness to coordinate activities and work collaboratively with other programs
- Provide leadership for all levels of the swim program
- Coordinate development and skill level of all athletes
- Develop support for the program from team members, students, parents, and community
- Make team participation a positive experience
- Facilitate strength-training program within the scope of the entire athletic program
- Possess and practice strong interpersonal skills with a wide variety of people both inside and outside the organization (staff, parents, community members, other agencies, etc.)
- Be a positive team builder who works in a collaborative manner
- Meet multiple demands in pressure situations and maintain high levels of quality work
- Maintain confidentiality
- Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
- Regularly demonstrate professionalism in appearance, actions, decisions, and overall performance
- Work with minimal supervision and be flexible
TERMS OF CONTRACT:
- Salary: Stipend Position: $5,858-$7,598 per full sports season – The filling of this position is dependent upon the number of participants.
