Purchasing Power is looking to hire a Contract Marketing Data Analyst to join our exciting and fast-paced, Lifecycle Marketing Team.

The Contract Marketing Data Analyst will drive data insights in support of our direct-to-consumer Lifecycle Marketing group. The selected candidate is responsible for providing analysis and insight into all business unit activities including sales, development, marketing, operational, and financial perspectives as well as customer journey stages including Awareness, Acquisition, Activation, and Retention. You will draw out the "why's" of performance, highlighting areas of opportunity, and expertly communicating qualitative stories backed with quantitative information.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop predictive models of customer value, behavior, and responsiveness based on various business activities – including customer churn analysis, customer lifetime value, RFM models, activation trends, cost of acquisition, marketing mix modeling, customer segment modeling (lapsed, dormant, etc.) marketing attribution, etc.
- Provides data driven input for all marketing activities, such as campaign planning, customer selection and any other information as required by business functions and leaders. This includes inputs to annual planning process as well as individual campaigns
- Monitors the performance of each marketing campaign to support the decision-making process for marketing initiatives
- Tracks causal impact of marketing activities on financial outcomes in the short and long term
- Builds predictive models to drive acquisition, engagement and retention and improve growth and profitability
- Conducts and coordinates financial, product, market, operational and related research to support strategic and business planning
- Actively participates and partners in department and cross-functional meetings
- Monitor daily/weekly/monthly metrics and alert business leaders to issues and trends
- Interprets, evaluates and interrelates company and research data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision making
- Analyzes business activities and present results and recommendations to enhance strategies both for awareness, effectiveness and overall financial benefit
- Recognizes and communicates financial implications of business decisions and strategy
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Decision Sciences, Mathematics, Finance, or related field
- Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to manage projects and processes end to end with a strong attention to detail
- Proven experience driving value-added insights in a B2C retail or financial services organization
- 3 years of business/data analysis experience; ideally in the retail field.
- 2 years of experience with VBA, SQL, Microsoft Access, BI/data visualization with Tableau, campaign management, CRM, and/or web analytics tools
- Understanding of business calculations to determine return on investment, cost per acquisition, profitability, high value segments, and market analysis
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to build consensus and project plans
- Able to communicate quantitative information in a qualitative manner
- Must be detail-oriented and very organized with the ability to multi-task to deliver timely output and handle shifting priorities professionally
- The ability to manage/manipulate large data sets efficiently while keeping data very organized and clean is also very important
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of extensive experience with SAS and other statistical software packages
- Consumer Ecommerce and/or Retail experience is a plus
- Extensive knowledge of SQL programming
- Working knowledge of SAS programming
- Knowledge of advanced quantitative analytic techniques and protocols (e.g. Marketing Mix models, Price Elasticities, Simulations, SKU Optimization, Forecasting) used to build necessary business models
