The Site Director will have full responsibility of multi-site manufacturing and distribution operations. The incumbent will develop and drive a culture of continuous improvement and strong execution of business strategies. This individual will work closely with leaders of sourcing, engineering, R&D, sales, and finance. They must be able to develop and implement business strategies with minimal supervision while understanding the broader context of the total business; able to synthesize information, analytics and trends, and build recommendations to support the business. Key metrics will include but are not limited to - on time delivery improvement, reduction of cost, meeting established quality and safety requirements, cycle time reduction, achievement of margin target, and delivery of continuous improvement cost savings programs.

The ideal candidate will:
  • Demonstrate ethical leadership qualities in the improvement of safety, quality, cost and delivery performance measures for the facility.
  • Direct and manage plant operations for production, scheduling, maintenance, quality, shipping and receiving.
  • Implement, champion, and monitor compliance to safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop operational procedures to prevent employee accidents and injuries.
  • Identify process and quality changes to improve manufacturing or distribution capabilities.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts utilizing lean initiatives; contribute to company’s lean culture through management of areas 6S standards, management of the Kaizen program, and leading lean project teams as needed in area to drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Cooperate with management team in formulating and establishing company policies and operating procedures.
  • Lead, evaluate, coach, mentor and train personnel.
  • Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Develop and control profits, plans, and budget.
  • Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, workforce, wages, and salaries.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures.
  • Control and minimize labor overtime and repair expenses.
  • Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
  • Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among all facility personnel.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators to meet or improve cycle time performance.
  • Ensure timely response to operational issues impacting customer satisfaction and ensure conformance to customer requirements.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve various system (process), part (materials flow), or people issues to correct deficiencies, reduce costs, improve processes/performance by using root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Manage and coach development of team and individual goals; implement employee development plans.
  • Manage employee hiring, reward, and corrective action processes.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or business management, or a related engineering field required.
  • Ten years of experience in world class manufacturing; leadership of multi-sites preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing business process, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
  • Minimum five years of relevant prior operational management experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing a large group of directs and indirect reports.
  • Experience and skills in budgeting, planning, and organizing.
  • Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Additional qualifications preferred for this role:
  • Broad strategic and executional skills, critical thinking skills, and demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Adaptability and willingness to “roll up sleeves.”
  • Experience in scoping, leading, and implementing process improvements through: Lean process, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma.
  • Basic understanding of finance including P&L statements.
  • Working knowledge of SAP – intermediate to advanced knowledge preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred – Spanish a plus.
  • Possess superior time management skills along with ability to lead by example.
Travel:
  • 10-20% travel may be required to other site locations, vendors, suppliers, etc.
