JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Global Quality you will develop, implement, maintain and improve the quality organization, systems and overall processes to ensure quality products are delivered to our customers in a high-tech manufacturing environment. You will define and specify the implementation of standards, methods, metrics and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating precision and accuracy and reliability of company products. You will use six sigma and other methodologies to improve performance by systematically removing waste and reducing variation. You have direct consumer interaction at our factories as well as our customer sites. You will need a high performing team of experts focused on quality Excellence.
RESPONSIBILITY
- Manage and improve the maturity of the Quality MGMT System & Corrective Action Process Introduce and champion the use of SPC technologies globally.
- Established customer relationships with quality and reliability representatives.
- Lead failure investigation and corrective action for customer related failures and facilitate customer quality & reliability interactions. Work closely with engineering to monitor and resolve top warranty issues.
- Develop and maintain cost of poor-quality metrics (COPQ)
- Improve supplier quality through monthly metrics, supplier quarterly business reviews and comprehensive supplier audits.
- Prepare, analyze, and present data analyst reports to upper management and customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 years manufacturing experience in leadership or technical positions and reliability experience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or physics required, MS or MBA preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing a quality management system.
- You're a thought leader in quality best practices, excellent communicator internally and externally, influencer and team leader that can be strategic and tactical.
- You have demonstrated experience leading high-performance teams.
- You have thorough knowledge of quality engineering disciplines, including: Quality data collection, Pareto & data analysis / trending, Customer Quality interface, failure reports, 8-D statistical concepts and methods, inspection methods & tools, mechanical and electrical.
- Knowledge of Lean methods and techniques, process control systems, process capabilities, measurements and analysis, FEMA, preventative action, and continuous improvement programs required.
- You are a champion of design quality tools including but not limited to D/PFMEA, DFX, Poke-yoke New Product Introduction.
- You use statistical decision-making methods including process capability analysis MSA and DoE.
- You have experience in continuous improvement structure problem solving such as 8-D fishbone and other quality tools.
- Demonstrates experience in effective collaboration with design, development and manufacturing organizations particularly as it relates to design for manufacturing and reliability.
- You're an advanced user of MS office products specifically excel and PowerPoint.
- This role requires 20% travel.
- Preferred certifications ASQ, CQE, CQM, CQA, CSBB, CRE
Education and/or Experience:
- B.S. degree in Engineering and Business Operations, Quality. Advanced course work preferred.
- 10 years active experience in a manufacturing environment.
