Art & Furniture warehouse handler

Art Handler & packer (Entry level is welcome)

PureArt Transport, Inc. is seeking to hire a team member to work in the shipping & receiving area. Under the direction and guidance of our lead handler, the person will be responsible for the shipping & receiving of items moving in / out of the warehouse as well as packing & unpacking crates with Furniture, art & objects.

• Understands aspects of art handling and keeping artwork, Furniture & Objects in a safe and efficient manner and open to training and on-site instruction
• Understands the meaning of being a team player and reporting to Warehouse lead on a daily basis
• Packs and handles artwork for delivery and international shipping.
• Loads and unloads trucks
• Reviews all paperwork to ensure complete and accurate deliveries
• Clean and well-groomed with company work shirt, long pants and protective work shoes
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age and possess general knowledge of art handling
• Must be willing to operate machinery
• Ability to resolve routine/problem and ability to identify the root cause(s) for some problems

Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent, college degree or active college study preferred

Language Skills

• Excellent skills in communicating effectively in oral or written form in English

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

• Forklift certified

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, bend, lift, and use hands
• Movement will occur throughout the work process
• Dexterity of hands, arms and legs is preferred
• Employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions on a frequent basis
• Employee must be able to lift 50lbs unassisted, and must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 300lbs with assistance of mechanical equipment
