Purple Tree Café is Hiring Supervisors!
Purple Tree Café is a nonprofit in Davis, California dedicated to providing community-based employment to people with disabilities, and bringing people with and without disabilities together through food, music and art. We employ people with disabilities to make and sell vegan baked goods at the Davis Farmers Market and other events, and through catering and local delivery services. We are making plans to launch a pop-up at a local cafe as the next step toward our long-term goal of opening our own brick-and-mortar location.
Purple Tree is looking for part-time employees (with or without disabilities) to work 5 to 15 hours/week supervising our baking operations beginning in September 2022.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise baking at the Davis Community Church kitchen on Wednesday evening,
Thursday evenings, Friday late mornings, and/or Sunday late mornings.
- Supervise additional baking, events, and operations as needed and available.
Qualifications:
- Experience, skill, and interest in working with individuals who have intellectual, developmental, physical and mental health disabilities.
- Food service experience in a kitchen is required. Experience supervising in a kitchen is preferred.
- Fully COVID-19 vaccinated.
- Interest in helping a young and vibrant nonprofit achieve its dreams.
Compensation: $17/hour
