POSITION PROFILE: Responsible for performing close of day scenarios for the hotel Guest Service area and account for daily activity by organizing and verifying information; identifying and correcting discrepancies; posting accounts; running and distributing daily reports.

Experience: Six to twelve months of employment in a related position or office setting with this company or other organizations. Accounting or hospitality experience a bonus.
Skills and Abilities: Requires having excellent computer and cash handling skills, ability to stand for extended periods of time; present a sociable, outgoing, lively and guest service oriented demeanor. Ability to adapt to changing guest need. Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-job. Good judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively. Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
Essential Job Function
- Audit, balance and report on all food and beverage outlets' (e.g. restaurants, lounges, banquets, room service) cash and credit operations to include but not limited to checks, over/short figures/tally sheets, deposits, counts, house charges, promotional materials, postings, etc. and reset all registers to ensure accurate, timely information.
- Follow all specified procedures to reconcile cashier's reports with the restaurant system each night, researching and posting any unresolved tickets from the day shifts.
- Follow all specified procedures to maintain and post a daily balance of all house accounts, including running preliminary reconciliations, detail transactions and final reports to accounting.
- Audit, balance, post and report on the front desk to include but not limited to; room charges, phone calls, zero balance folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, disputed charges, over/short figures, deposits, etc. to ensure accuracy and verify proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Audit, balance and prepare, verify and report on Room information to provide rooms management with a picture of how they are performing.
- Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for preparation of daily reports. Produce accurate and timely reports and correctly handle all cash transactions.
- Balance and audit for accuracy room revenue, food and beverage revenue, cashier's reports, and guest and house accounts and telephone revenue; assisting the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues. Balance and close all bank ticket codes, daily.
- Transmit credit card batches.
- Run night audit final after insuring all revenues are in balance nightly.
- Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents.
- Act as hotel system liaison during night hours.
- Perform all Guest Service Representative functions as required; may assist in booking room reservations; may assist in answering hotel phone calls and notifying guests of message.
- Perform any other duties as designated.
