The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, leveraging innovative technology that creates the ultimate one-of-kind guest experience and best in class restaurant and bar operations. The Payroll Specialist based out of the Home Office works closely and consultatively with the Payroll Manager and, venue operations teams, and the rest of the finance team. The role will report to the Payroll Manager with frequent interactions with the Human Resources Manager, venue operations teams, and independent work. Effective communication and partnerships with all levels of the organization is essential.
Location: Chicago, IL 60654 - Hybrid.
Reports to: US Payroll Manager
What you'll do:
- Manage workflows to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely, in accordance with processing deadlines per venue for hourly associates.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, separations and changes to pay rates
- Owns the process of reconciling payroll prior to transmission and validates all entries
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices.
- Maintain employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Monthly audits and reconciliation of payroll/tax system to ensure systems are aligned and activities are coordinated
- Providing general troubleshooting support and assistance to various team-members or employees
- Compute and process manual/off cycle check requests
- Understanding of multi-location payroll and local, state and federal rules and laws on payroll taxes
- Provide process improvement recommendations
- Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
- Ad hoc requests as needed throughout the year
Who you are:
- 2 years' experience of fully cycle, multi-unit, ideally hospitality, experience with organizations operating in multiple states
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or equivalent experience
Key Skills/Competencies:
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, diverse work environment
- Strong Knowledge in use of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Excel, Outlook
- Advanced Excel skills strongly preferred
