Job Description:
We are seeking a GIS Developer 2 to join the Virginia State Police Information Technology Division in the Mobile Support Section. In this role, you will contribute to ongoing mapping projects, providing expertise in geographic information system (GIS) analysis and support.
Position Duties:
- Develop GIS programs, products, and tools for effective law enforcement, dispatching, and workload analysis.
- Create and maintain internal GIS web portals using real-time and historical data.
- Provide programming, technical, and software support for various GIS systems associated with CAD and Stars mobile data.
- Develop and administer focused web applications using ArcGIS Online and existing web portals.
- Manage GIS-related software systems and servers, ensuring data quality and sharing with other agencies.
- Perform GIS analysis and reports to support decision-making within the organization.
- Conduct GIS training sessions for users as needed.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of GPS/GIS theory, geo-processing functions, and mobile GIS-based applications.
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Server/Portal.
- Proficient in using ESRI desktop software suite (ArcGIS Pro) and Microsoft Suite.
- Familiarity with enterprise GIS automation techniques and GPS/GIS principles.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in law enforcement or military organizations.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $75,000.00 - $91,000.00 per year
