Sr. Systems Engineer

PVM is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Linux Sr. Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in Huntsville, Alabama. As a key member of our team, you'll be working on cutting-edge projects, collaborating with a talented group of professionals, and making a significant impact in the world of data integration for our esteemed Department of Justice client.
Responsibilities:
- Gather necessary information and respond to customer inquiries over email/through ticket-based software support desk systems.
- Reproduce and diagnose issues reported by clients, with a specific focus on Linux-based systems, and build a process to streamline future troubleshooting.
- Become an expert in Linux environments and respond to questions about Linux-related data quality or help users obtain data in the Palantir platform.
- Troubleshoot and maintain Python and Java data pipelines in Linux environments, including monitoring pipeline health, debugging pipeline failures, and making ad hoc changes to pipeline code to support user requests.
- Maintain and contribute towards user-built applications within the Palantir platform, with a particular emphasis on Linux compatibility and optimization.
- Identify trends in support issues and work with Palantir engineering teams to resolve problem root causes, emphasizing Linux-related issues.
- Work closely with Engineers on the team, as well as interfacing with the Product Development Org to support our production footprint and troubleshoot Linux-related issues.
- Write and maintain enterprise data integration pipelines, focusing on Linux environments.
- Reverse engineer existing code to update and improve software efficiency, particularly in Linux systems.
- Assist with technical projects, including scoping work, interfacing with other teams, and collaborating with other engineers, with a specific emphasis on Linux-related projects.
Requirements:
- TS CLEARANCE WITH SCI ELIGIBILITY REQUIRED*
- 7 years of relevant work experience
- Strong expertise in Linux system administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Education:
- BS/BA or equivalent experience
Preferred:
- Experience with Palantir Gotham or Palantir Foundry in Linux environments.
- Palantir-provided FSR Training with a focus on Linux.
- New Palantir Technologies Training with a focus on Linux.
Tools:
- Experience writing production data pipelines in a native LINUX scripting language, with familiarity of Python, Java or Groovy coding languages.
- Experience with unit testing and integration testing and data pipeline development, with an emphasis on Linux systems.
- Experience with relational and non-relational (NoSQL) database schema design in Linux environments.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills with an ability to explain and demonstrate complex concepts in an easily understood manner
- Flexible and can operate within diverse environments with varying organizational cultures
Salary: $123,000- $145,000
