Senior Accountant
Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will provide high-level support to the Corporate Controller as they manage financial activity.
Job Description:
- Assist with month-end & year-end financial close procedures.
- Prepare journal entries and post into GL system.
- Track all lease information and prepare journal entries to comply with ASC 842.
- Code recurring administrative & insurance invoices to post into GL system.
- Assist with computations for commission payments.
- Assist tax department with monthly sales & use tax reporting and various other tax reporting.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and post depreciation expense journal entries.
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Provide routine or as needed accounting support that contributes to the effective functioning of the Accounting/Finance Department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Demonstrated Skill in:
- Preparing and maintaining records.
- Applying applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Communicating complex and detailed reports and information.
- Analyzing statistical and financial relationships in data.
- Preparing reports.
- Handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Utilizing computer technology used for communication, data gathering and reporting.
- Communicating effectively through oral and written mediums.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Fixed Asset CS Software a plus
Qualifications and Essential Functions:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 3 years of related public or private accounting experience. CPA a plus.
Job functions require long periods of sitting and working from computer workstation; ability to multi-task, problem solve, and prioritize daily workload; excellent organization and record keeping skills; comfortable with oral and written communications. Requires extended periods of sitting, normal walking, bending, twisting, and stretching. Capability of sight and hearing required. Ability to deal with stressful situations and occasionally working extended hours. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
