Soaring Heights School is seeking a Student Support Assistant to join our team!
We are looking for someone who is passionate about our program and excited to be in a classroom setting. This position will afford excellent work-life balance. Our team members have flexible schedules Monday-Friday. No nights, no weekends, or no on-call!
Soaring Heights is a compassionate and dedicated team that helps students our succeed. We are ae licensed private academic schools offering educational and behavioral programming for students ages 5 to 21 diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder or in need of emotional support services. Soaring Heights Schools focuses on increasing academic performance, socialization, communication, and vocational skills to allow our students to become active and productive members of the community.
Responsibilities include:
- Implements, models, and assists staff and caregivers with implementation of Positive Behavior Support Plans and Individual Treatment Plans, as designed by Behavioral Specialists, located in school, home or community settings as specified in the individual plan.
- Completes daily required documentation
- Supports student development of various behavioral and emotional skills
- Assists caregivers and staff with addressing therapeutic needs of the student
- Implements Positive Behavior Support Plans and ABA-based interventions.
- Participate in supervision sessions.
- Assist school personnel (director, administrative assistant, teacher, teacher assistant, etc) or student to arrange the school’s environment to best meet the student’s physical and psychological needs.
- Assist school personnel with creating, copying, grading of classroom and student materials.
- Perform Personal Care duties with toileting, eating and grooming activities when necessary.
- Communicate to the teacher learning issues that a student(s) may be experiencing with assigned tasks.
- Participates in crisis intervention and prevention techniques and complete appropriate forms
- Monitors students appropriately
- Presents a positive and nurturing attitude
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements
Education, Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 18 years of age or older
- Prefer experience working with children in an educational, hospital or home setting.
- Must be passionate about working with kids!
