This opportunity is accountable for assisting the Retail P&C Underwriters with business development and profitable growth by building relationships within assigned brokers, applying sound decision-making, delivering underwriting support, and displaying firm grasp of underwriting principles and processes. Responsibilities include assisting with new business production, renewal retention, account servicing (within limited letter of authority), and the overall profitability of assigned book of business. This role assists with driving region results with a focus on underwriting support and account servicing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review, evaluate and prepare new and renewal business at the direction of assigned Underwriter(s)
- Assist with underwriting insurance risks in accordance with the business plan and delegated authority to meet business objectives, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations and guidelines
- Assist with the review and analysis of the portfolio to evaluate progress toward business objectives
- Provide timely, accurate a) preparation and rating/issuance instructions for new business, renewal, and servicing transactions b) communication with internal and external partners on status of transactions, and c) delivery of required documents to those partners
- Make entries, as required, properly and promptly in underwriting systems to ensure accuracy of data, including but not limited to PAS and CRM platforms
- Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met
- Maintain relationships with assigned brokers
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
