The QIAGEN Medical Affairs organization works collaboratively and strategically with colleagues across the franchises to identify, evaluate, understand, and communicate the scientific messages of QIAGEN products globally. The Medical Affairs intern will have the opportunity to kick-start their career by working closely with experienced industry professionals to gain valuable Infectious Diseases diagnostic industry experience. For 26 weeks, the MA intern will be immersed in the environment of a global diagnostic company and will contribute to the business by providing sustainable and meaningful project work. The QIAGEN Medical Affairs intern will improve patient outcomes by collaborating on the generation, interpretation and communication of data with internal stakeholders. They will be exposed to the day to day operations of the team, as well as the various cross-functional partners the Medical Affairs team interacts with regularly. The intern will be invited to the weekly medical affairs team meeting on an ad hoc basis, as well as be offered a guided mentorship program if desired.
This is a 26 week, part time (16 hours/month) internship that is located remotely, and reports to the Director, Medical and Scientific Affairs.
Essential Duties:
- Assist with project management duties for the Global Medical Affairs team
- Assist with content creation including training materials, presentations and journal clubs
- Support advisory board planning and execution
- Assist with product launches
Qualifications
Physical Requirements: Continuous sitting for prolonged periods. 100% remote work
- Students who are completing a Masters/Doctorate degree in science with an interest in Infectious Diseases
- Strong academic record with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be highly motivated to work independently.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn
- Unrestricted permanent US work authorization, and should not require sponsorship for employment visa status
The estimated hourly wage for this position is $15.00/hour. Compensation will be based on the candidate's experience, skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
