Position Overview
QinetiQ US is actively looking for an experienced Senior Director, National Security, Business Development & Strategy Executive to support our NGSS portfolio and drive our continued growth.
This role is both internal and external facing. It requires engaging with existing and potential customers, understanding emerging technologies, policies, and stakeholders, and managing QinetiQ’s existing accounts with a focus on strategic, sustainable, and foundational growth. Successful candidates will have deep experience in federal policies, programs, and technologies, as well as associated public and private sector stakeholders. Successful candidates will bring an extensive network of federal and private sector relationships as well as an emphasis on domain expertise and growth.
Responsibilities
- Deliver strategic growth objectives. Work with senior leadership to agree on a strategy to successfully execute transformational growth for the business. Identify and open new markets and develop existing markets, and work with the Director and other team members to develop pipeline. Achieve yearly sales targets and build a forward-leaning opportunity pipeline focused on unrestricted opportunities and small business partnerships
- Deepen strategic customer engagement. Serve as the lead, where appropriate, in business dealings with senior external stakeholders, particularly current and potential customers. Improve internal and external customer satisfaction through the effective delivery of programs to time, quality, and cost. Participate in a wide range of activities supporting growth objectives, including drafting RFI and RFP responses, attending client meetings, submitting white papers, participating in industry presentations and events, etc.
- Manage risks, issues, and changes across the business; in all matters of organizational structure and staffing, ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and security requirements.
- Lead by example in setting and maintaining standards of behavior, work ethic and values. Act as a leader first and foremost, playing a full part in the execution of the portfolio’s and the business unit’s strategy and initiatives. Develop and share best practice across the business, including other QinetiQ divisions.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in a relevant organization or equivalent federal government role.
- Exceptional intellectual and analytical curiosity.

- An entrepreneurial mindset for account development, growth, and business strategy.
- Ability to work with other portfolio and division leaders to plan and execute short, medium, and long term FLE growth objectives.
- Experience managing at least $30M/year in revenue or equivalent federal programs.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and in-depth knowledge/defined involvement in helping frame, design and execute solutions for challenging business situations.
- Experience maintaining long term client relationships and networks.
- Experience managing and motivating teams with diverse skills and backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Knowledge of data analytics and technology-enabled solutions.
- Knowledge of agency resource planning and budgeting processes.
- Participation in relevant industry communitie(s) and associations and experience representing an organization in front of external audiences.
