Position Overview
QinetiQ Inc. is looking to hire an experienced Systems Engineer to support ISA programs at our Fort Belvoir, VA customer location. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
- Integration of sensors, software, and processing with user interfaces and other system architectures.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth field data collections, tests and experimentation, including end-user reviews, for prototype systems.
- Propose and create system design specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide recommendations and technical guidance to decision-makers and development teams.
- Decomposing customer needs for sensor and command and control (C2) system interoperability into translation component requirements and two-way data mapping.
- Decomposing customer requirements into detailed system and software level requirements to specify software functionality.
- Developing test plans and procedures intended to verify the implementation of customer and detailed system requirements in both customer-supplied and QinetiQ-developed systems.
- Documenting two-way traceability between requirements and test procedures, both to ensure test coverage of all requirements and to correlate issues discovered during testing to requirements that are not satisfied within the system under test.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of full lifecycle Systems Engineering experience.
- MS degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline or additional 3 years of related experience in lieu of MS qualification.
- Experience working within Windows and Linux/Unix computer environment with Office or Open Office tools.
- Experience specifying requirements and/or developing and executing testing of computer-based software systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of military sensor performance and capabilities.
